                                      The Perfect Play

I read the story of the Christ child being born in the manger and what He came to do for you and me. . .
And the joy He brings to people is something that I now can see.

2000 years ago seems like yesterday now. . .
Jesus puts life into living and He also shows us how.

This is the season we give, we share , we rejoice. . .
If we do this, it is simply by choice.

Sometimes it's hard to understand the purposes and plans that come across our way. . .
But in the end God called the perfect play.

God came to this Earth to do great things for me and you. . .
So enjoy the Christmas season and be happy with what you and God do.

                     Those Memories

The days are shorter and there is a chill in the air. . .
And men now wear caps where there used to be hair.

The smell of wood burning is strong at night. . .
And the sky is dazzling when it's cold and bright.

People seem happier this time of the year. . .
And kids are excited because Christmas is almost here.

Got a card in the mail from a friend of long ago. . .
One of my old friends who taught me how to play in the snow.

There is something about this time of the year that makes the heart glad. . .
But with missing pieces it's also sad.

The days are shorter and there is a chill in the air. . .
And I cherish those memories of being there.

Merry Christmas and may you have a blessed day. . .
Share your memories and make each one go a long way.

The Only Way

The sun is setting – it’s been a great day. . .

I’ve been watching God work while I was at play.

The lake was warm – it was a great place to be. . .

The picnic with friends – they are always great to see.

We talked about life and how He’d been good to each one. ... .

And we shared stores about how we met Jesus, His Son.

We rode on the lake and saw His creation all around. . .

And we felt His presence even in those still, small sounds.

We quoted the Psalms as we stared at the sky. . .

And we were all sad because we knew we’d have to say good bye.

The sun is setting – it’s been a great day. . .

For me, living with God is the only way.

                                  Just For Today

Just for today I am going to be as kind as I can be. . .
Hopefully, others will see the difference Jesus makes in me.

Just for today I'll watch what I say. . .
Maybe others will notice my new way.

Just for today I'll be your friend. . .
We'll stick together all the way to the end.

Just for today your rules I'll obey. . .
I'll try to please you just for today.

Just for today I'll call someone on the phone. . .
Someone who is lonely and may be all alone.

For me this will be living a different way. . .
Just for today.

                          Let Jesus

I saw a good example when I read it the other day. . .
It was something Jesus did to show us a better way.

He took a servant's towel and set His honor aside. . .
He showed us how to serve and how to conquer our pride.

He took a bowl of water and washed the disciples' feet. . .
And He told them and us if we did this it would really make us neat.

Jesus has shown us a better example of how to set our pride aside. . .
When it comes to good examples, let Jesus be your guide.

                                You and Me

Do things just happen - do things just turn out that way? . . .
Do things just happen or did someone call that play?

We all have our opinions as to why things turn out the way they do. . .
But, have you ever thought that maybe someone is looking out for you?

As I get older it's easy for me to look back and see. . .
Somebody was really looking out for me.

The jobs, the people - they all play their part. . .
And each circumstance makes a lasting impression upon my heart.

Good things, bad things, we experience them all. . .
It seems to be part of life - part of our call.

Do you suppose God had a hand in all of this.? . . .
That's the question I couldn't resist.

Do things just happen the way they do? . . .
Or would it just be that someone is watching out for me and you.

                      Every Inch

Your life and your words show what you tell. . .
Live carefully because they do it so well.

You can't fake it when you expose the true you. . .
The fruit of your living reveals what you do.

A purpose and a plan is a great place to start. . .
But always ask Jesus to live through your heart.

It is totally incredible what God can do. . .
Especially when He works through me and you.

So open your life wide and let Him feel every inch. . .
And a fruitful life will be a cinch.

                         In Control

God invented time and He owns the patent too. . .
And He created days and nights and the color blue.

God is in the cockpit guiding this ship. . .
And we restless humans fret and flip.

There is no need for a distressed soul. . .
After all - God is in control.

We run and search and try to be the best. . .
And we challenge ourselves as we face the test.

We die from stress and needlessly too. . .
Never knowing the creator of blue.

Friends, there is no need to have a distressed soul. . .
After all - God is in control.

 Victory

God knows our every heartache, He knows our bitter pain. . .
And if we can learn to trust Him in our darkness, our trust will not be in vain.

God wants to be involved in your life if you'll only open the door. . .
You may be drowning in an ocean of woe, but He will get you safely to shore.

We all have disappointments and heartaches that cause us plenty of pain. . .
And inner peace is something that we sometimes never seem to gain.

But God knows our every heartache, He knows our bitter pain. . .
And by trusting in Him, the victory we will gain.

 A Special Need

It's a real challenge to resolve to live for Christ in our actions, words and deeds. . .
Yielding our hearts to Him and praying for other's needs.

It's exciting to watch what He does in another life or two. . .
And just think, the action started with you.

There could be a life that God wants to touch through you. . .
And praying for that person could be the most important thing you could do.

So make it a top priority to perform this special deed. . .
Pray for someone who you know who has a special need.

Your Roots

We have that human tendency to want to try to do it all. . .
We believe that without our effort, the kingdom will fall.

Like a growing tree we want to send out new shoots. . .
