December, 2007 McDowell County
native Jim Dalton delivered a truck load of food to the Mission in
early December. Dalton his family, friends, and former classmastes conducted food drives in Roanoke (where he now
resides) during the month of November. A heartfelt thanks to Jim
and his family for giving of themselves this holiday season.

Because YOU helped....over 500 families were provided with a hot
Thanksgiving meal and a grocery bag filled with all the ingredients to
prepare another one at home.

Craig Hammond (left) of the Bluefield Union Mission, with two pallets
of spaghetti and spaghetti sauce at Sam's Club.
The sauce and pasta weighed in at more than 2500 pounds and was a welcome sight for the volunteers at the mission's food pantry.

October, 2007 Bronze Look
Pictured is Craig Hammond, Director of the Bluefield Union Mission,
accepting a check for $400 from Ashley Evans, Youth Representaive of
the Bronze Look. The Bronze Look, a Gold Showcase Dealer for
Fenton Glass, recently conducted a special promotion to raise monies
for the food pantries of the Bluefield Union Mission and Tender Mercies
of Princeton.

| Summer, 2007 McCord Road Christian Church
Thirty members of the McCord Road Christian Church of
Sylvania, Ohio provided a labor of love this past summer by lending a
helping hand at the Bluefield Union Mission. The group served the
afternoon meal, worked in the food pantry, the clothing room, the
furniture distribution center, and helped with landscaping around the

June 22-23, 2007 World's Greatest BBQ The
fourth annual "World's Greatest BBQ Buffet" is sponsored by the
Bluefield Union Mission to help fund the agency's emergency assistance
fund.
The menu included hickory-smoked ribs, pulled pork BBQ, smoked chicken,
broasted chicken, hot dogs, cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad,
tea, coffee, lemonade, and the famous ice cream sundae buffet. Thanks
for coming out and enjoying the "world's greatest BBQ" and at the same
time helping out some of our unfortunate neighbors.
