In
1981 a former mission board member, the late Judge William Bivens,
started the Renewal Project to help those in the criminal justice
system make the transition from institutional living to community
living. While incarcerated we provide Bible study, weekly visits, and clothing (for those who do not have uniforms). And assistance to their families including the “Toys for Forgotten Tots” at Christmas. The Renewal Project is always in need of jeans (size 32-38), new underwear & socks. Upon release the Renewal Project helps to identify needs and provide assistance to return to community living as law-abiding citizens. The Bluefield Union Mission is a certified agency for community service for those on probation or parole. For more information on Community Service contact Joel Hammond at (304)327-8167 or email Bluefield Union Mission --please put Renewal Project in the subject line. |
